summary_ (taken from amazon) 1

Barbara Covington has one more chance to save her daughter from a devastating addiction, by staging an intervention. But when eighteen-year-old Emily disappears on the way to drug treatment—and her interventionist is found dead at the airport—Barbara enters her darkest nightmare of all. Barbara and her son set out to find Emily before Detective Kent Harlan arrests her for a crime he is sure she committed. Fearing for Emily’s life, Barbara maintains her daughter’s innocence. But does she really know her anymore? Meanwhile, Kent has questions of his own. His gut tells him that this is a case of an addict killing for drugs, but as he gets to know Barbara, he begins to hope he’s wrong about Emily. The panic level rises as the mysteries intensify: Did Emily’s obsession with drugs lead her to commit murder—or is she another victim of a cold-blooded killer?

my review

I loved this book so much, I was sad when I thought it was a stand alone. But I looked into it and found out two other books follow it!!! You will never know how excited I was about that!!! 🙂
I don’t know if there was any part in the book that I didn’t like or I thought was boring! I think I loved everything about it! And the characters were fabulous!!
It had a pretty good representation of the gospel compared to most books I’ve read.

There are a few bloody scenes in the book, but it’s nothing too gory, so I would recommend it for ages 14+. But that’s just my recommended age.

This is a very clean read and I highly recommend it!

  1. Oh my! Sounds so suspenseful! Was it? 🙂 Mystery books are always so neat to read! I love when one of the main characters is a Detective or FBI!

I haven’t read this book … I’ll have to ask my sister if she has! 🙂

Me too! Have you ever read the O’Malley series by Dee Henderson or books by Davis Bunn? I think Davis Bunn is my favorite author!

      1. Yes!! 🙂

I have read two books out of the O’Malley series! I loved the firefighter one! 😉 I’ve read a couple books by Davis Bunn and Janette Oke, but not any just by him. I don’t know if I have a favourite author … if I do, it would probably take me a while to figure out! 😀

  2. I think my favorite O’Malley series books would have to be the Negotiator and the Guardian!
You should definitely read some books by Davis Bunn. He is a really good, clean author. I think my favorite of his was The Lazarus Trap!

I know! Me too! I’m actually in the process of writing a book now. I’m really excited and nervous about it, all at the same time! 🙂
What kind of books do you write? I like writing christian / suspense / mystery! 🙂

    1. Yes, definitely check it out, Maddy! 🙂 🙂

That’s soo exciting!!! What’s yours about? 🙂 Well, I’ve only finished one book (that was in February) which is set in Christmas 2012/2013 about a family with four children. It’s called “White Christmas”. Now, I’m writing a book called “The Bridge to Nowhere” and I’m having the main girl as a writer and I’m having her book in my book–does that make sense! 😉 Soo I think I like to write Christian, modern, and mystery.

I’d be happy to send you my book in document form by email, if you’d like to read it! 🙂 It will probably be at the beginning of May though.

      1. My story is about a twenty-two year old girl, Rachel, whose Father was murdered when she was fourteen. His death is now a cold case and since Rachel is older, she really wants to find out what happened to her Dad. So her fiancé, Marc, and a really good friend of her family, Steven, tries helping her find out what happened that night. There are a lot of twists and turns in the story.
I hope to finish it someday, but I have a looooong way to go. 🙂
I have rough draft (a VERY VERY rough draft) of the prologue if you’d like to read it. 🙂
I wrote one full book when I was very little called “A Princess Forever”, but I think I lost it when my family moved to a new house. 😦
I still haven’t come up with a title for my new book. Any tips?
Wow!! I’d love to read it! 🙂 Do you still have my email address?
“The Bridge to Nowhere” sounds pretty neat! I’d love to read that when you’re finished! 🙂

      1. Oh my! Sounds amazing! 🙂 The main girl in “White Christmas” is twenty-two as well! I guess that’s the age! So (you don’t have to tell me), do you know why her (your main girl) father was murdered? I suspect you do, but if you don’t, it would be good to know!
Yes, I would love to read the prologue! And don’t worry if you change it, because I’m used to my friend and sister doing that! 😀
Let’s see … maybe this website would help: http://www.adazing.com/book-title-generator/
I’ve never used it so, you’ll have to give the first try! Haha!
Yep, I have your email still. I’ll get my story out to you as soon as possible!
I’ve enjoyed writing “The Bridge to Nowhere”. So let me explain why it’s called that–there’s not much explaining to do though! The main girl’s father in the book that’s in my book is a train conductor, so I’m having exciting things with that. There’s also motorcycle gangs! *claps hands* I’ve never done a story like I’m doing now, so it’s pretty exciting! Most of the gang have long, greasy hair too! 😀
The main story with the girl that’s writing the book: she’s an orphan. She finds an editor to help her with her book. For a while I was going to just have her story plain like that and the book was going to be about her writing a book, but I decided I needed some action! 😀 So I’ve been putting it in.

  3. That’s neat!!! My sister and I have actually come up with a story together about a girl who is twenty two too! My sister is twenty-two and she says “Its the perfect age!” HAHA!!! 🙂
Well, her Father was murdered because he finds out Steven (Rachel’s friend) is a drug dealer, but he (Steven) uses his policeman job for a cover up. Her Dad works with him, so that’s how he finds out. So her Dad is on his way to a meeting with the police, to tell some people about it, but the man who is in charge of the drug operation, Carl Webb, sends Steven to kill her Father, so they wont be ruined. So Steven is the murderer, but nobody will know that until the end of the book! 🙂 There are a few small details I still have to work out! 🙂
Great!! I’ll send it out to you after I get back from baby-sitting my nieces which should be sometime next week!
I’ll have to check out that website. Thank you!
Ok. I’ll be looking forward to reading it!! 🙂
That sounds REALLY exciting! It sounds like it would be really fun to write!!!

Yep, I’m used to peoples reactions! Mostly everyone here in England “panic” when we tell them how many kids we have! Most British families only have two to three children … five sometimes is looked down upon! We heard of a lady having her third and everyone was making rude comments to her about it! So sad!
